What is the surface water?

It is the summary name of water which is located in dips of Earth’s crust. They might be lakes and flowing waters – rivers, streams etc.

They might be natural or artificial – fish ponds, reservoirs, canals. Surface water is biotope that consists of chemical and biological components for flora and fauna.

What do we use the surface water for?
   - Water public utilities – sweet water supply
   - Agricultural application – irrigation
   - Industrial application
   - Renewable energy production
   - Maritime navigation, freight, recreation
   - Water supply of natural protected aquatic habitats
   - At last but not at least treating and storing sewage
